Since there is a finite human limit to the amount of forgiveness most possess, we may not be emotionally able to forgive someone for a particular offense more once or twice. And, we may rightly believe if someone continues to hurt us that we simply walk away as a means of self-preservation. After all, this is only human. Furthermore, we the risk of hurting our loved ones when we forgive those who wronged them. But God's to the question is concerning how many times we should forgive someone is that give our brother not once, or even seven times, but seventy times times. This means that there should be no end to our forgiveness. "1,. the prophet Hosea. His wife Gomer was unfaithful to him and was h a harlot. And yet Hosea forgave her, and when she was in the being sold as a slave by her most recent lover, Hosea bought her expense and took her back to his home, forgiving her for her infidelitY, as God forgives us for ours. You must dwell as mine for many days; you shall not play the harlot, or belong to another man; so will I also be to you. R.S. V. Hosea 3:3
