SENTINEL TmBUNE Wednesday, February 24, 2016 Page 7 By Coach Adam Kletscher Edgerton 86 WWG 51 The Chargers hosted the Edgerton Flying Dutchmen at home last Tuesday. The Dutchmen came into the gym with some talented shooters and good post players. The ladies knew they had a lot of hard work ahead of them. The Chargers couldn't find the right combination to slow down the Dutchmen in the first half as they jumped out to a 42-21 halftime lead. The Chargers came out after the break and stepped up their game. The Chargers started to get things clicking on offense and stepped up their defense. Midway through the second half, the Chargers were chipping away at the Dutchmen lead. Soon the Edgerton lead was only 13 points. The Chargers then ran out of steam and the Dutchmen finished out the game on a hot streak. Cassidy Mischke led the Chargers with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Lina Vue 13 points, 1 assist. Emma Woelber 5 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals. Grace Woelber 5 points, 2 steals. McKenzie Deprez 4 points, 2 rebounds. Avoree Bakken 4 points, 5 rebounds. Mariah Hicks 1 point, 8 rebounds. Theresa Merrick 5 rebounds. MLA 51 VgWG 39 The Chargers headed to Mountain Lake last Friday to take on the Wolverines. The Chargers came out and played a very good ball game. The ladies knew they needed to limit touches on MLA's lead- ing scorer, and they did a good job of keeping her at bay. The Chargers played very well offensively moving the ball well inside and out. The Chargers trailed 27-23 at halftime. After the break the Chargers continued to play good defense, but struggled offensively. The Wolverines changed up their defensive strategy that gave the Charger offense some troubles. The ladies couldn't quite get the looks they were hoping for. MLA held on to the lead for the win. Cassidy Mischke paced the Chargers with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Lina Vue 8 points, 3 steals. Emma Woelber 7 points, 2 assists. Grace Woelber 7 points, 2 assists. Theresa Merrick 6 rebounds, 2 steals.
