SENTINEL TRIBUNE Public Noti March 3 l 2003 Cottonwood County NOTICE OF DELINQUENT TAXE STATE OF MINNESOTA DISTRICT COURT COUNTY OF COTTONWOOD FIFTH JUDICIAL DISTRICT TO: ALL PERSONS, COMPANIES, OR CORPORATIONS WHO HAVE OR CLAIM ANY ESTATE, RIGHT, TITLE, OR INTEREST IN, CLAIM TO, OR LIEN UPON, ANY OF THE SEVERAL PARCELS OF LAND DESCRIBED IN THE DELINQUENT TAX LIST ATTACHED TO THIS NOTICE. The list of taxes and penalties on real property for the County of Cottonwood remaining delinquent on the first Monday in January, 2003, has been filed in the office the Cottonwood County Court Administrator. A copy of this list is attached. This list is published to inform all persons that the listed property is subject to forfeiture due to delinquent taxes. All interested persons are required to pay. the taxes, penalties, interest and costs to the Cottonwood County Auditor/Treasurer, or to file a written answer setting forth all objections and defenses you may have to the taxes, on or before the 20th day after the publication of this notice and list. If, by that date, the taxes, penalties, interest and costs are not paid and no answer is filed, a default judgment will be entered against the property in the amount of the taxes, penalties, interest and costs stated on the list. Based on the judgment, the property shall be sold to the state of Minnesota on the second Monday in Mat; 2004. The period of redemption for all property sold to the state at a tax judgment sale shall be three years from the date of sale to the state of Minnesota ff the land is within an incorporated area unless it is: (a) nonagricultural homesteaded land as defined in Minn. Star. 273.13, subd. 22; (b) homesteaded agricultural land as defined in Minn. Stat. 273.13, subd. 23 (a); (c) seasonal recreational land as defined in Minn. Stat. 273.13, subd. 22 (c) and 25 (c) (5), in which event the period of redemption is five years from the date of sale to the state of Minnesota; (d) abandoned property and pursuant to Minn. Stat. 281.173 a court order has been entered shortening the redemption period to five weeks; or (e) vacant property as described under Minn. star. 281.174, subd. 2, and for which a court order is entered shortening the redemption period under Minn. star. 281.174. The period of redemption for all other property sold to the state at a tax judgment sale shall he five years from the date of sale. If the amount due is not paid within the redemption period, the property is subject to forfeiture.
