About 60 people were working in one field, with about 15 tractors. Some farmers were busy Monday rooming digging the fields in preparation for spring planting. If the weath- er keeps up this way, the fields will be swarming with farmers working the ground. THIRTY YEARS AGO April 21, 1983 Lee Hallstrom is the new pastor at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Dovray. He will be installed on Sunday. Westbrook students made a few discoveries last week. They learned that Westbrook water does not contain cya- nide, and they learned that Science is not necessarily a "Ho Hum" class. Their tests with city water gained state- wide attention last week when the Sentinel story was picked up by the Worthington Globe and put out over the wire service. By Monday, High School Principal Butt Wiecks was swamped with phone calls and he was mak- ing arrangements for four television stations to spend some time in the city. FORTY FIVE YEARS AGO April 25, 1968 Joe Villa and Glen Ward have sold the Westbrook Locker to Don Meier of Pipestone. Meier, formerly of Jeffers, has been employed in Pipestone. He is married to the former Connie Larson of Westbrook. Meier will assume management and operation of the locker May 1.
