They were tied with Windom going into the last event, the 4x400 relay. The Chargers blew the field away with a convincing victory! They won 3 of the 4 relay events and took second in the other. West 23 Wabasso Red,Rock Conference Irack boys results By Steve LeBoutillier Coach Five make All-Conference Last Thursday the boys track team participated in the Red Rock Conference track meet at Slayton. The Red Rock is one of the toughest meets of the season and the guys rose to the challenge. Season bests were achieved by Blake Stevens in both of his hurdle events, Josh Benson ran his best mile time of the year, and two relays ran their best times even though the wind was sometimes fac- toring in. The 4x4 relay team ended the meet in a breath- taking victory, just edging out Southwest Christian. The relay, consisting of Jon LeBoutillier, Blake Stevens, Garett Amundson, and Mitch Comnick ran their best time Elzenga, 4x800 Relay, so far and hope to run even 9:54.18 better next week. The Chargers performed well despite the fact half of the team had to leave early because of anoth- er activity. Anne Woelber heaved the shot 2 feet further for a new personal best and placed fifth. Madison Takle placed second in the 1600 meter run by run- ning the race 14.17 seconds faster for a new personal best. Jordaan Joel, Elizabeth Woelber and Ashley Opheim all ran a personal best in the 200 meter dash while Hailey Osland ran a personal best in the 100 meter hurdles. Maddie Frank was the top point getter for the team with 13, followed by Chloe Arfsten 12.5, Jordaan Joel 12, Madison Takle 9, Melanie Kedl 7.5, Chanel Madson 5, Briarma Mattison 2, Anne Woelber 2, Hailey Osland 2, Alexa Byers 2, Taylor Shannon 2, Elizabeth Woelber 2, Cassie Erickson .5, Hannah Sell .5, Macy Simonson .5 and Maddy Johnson .5. The very young Charger team is continuing to improve as ten personal bests were performed and the 4X100 relay team of Chanel Madson, Elizabeth Woelber, Chloe Arfsten, and Brianna Mattison ran their best time this season. Performing personal bests were Macy Simonson in both the shot and discus, Hailey Osland in both the long jump and 100 M hurdles, Hannah Sell in the pole vault, Elizabeth Woelber in the long jump, Brianna Mattison in the 100 and 200 meter dash, Jackie Trapp in the 100 meter dash and Ashley Opheim in the 100 meter dash. Leading the team with total points was Chloe Arfsten with 10.25 points. Maddie Frank added 9 points, Melanie Kedl 1.75, Jordaan Joel 1.75, Hannah Sell 1.5, Cassie Erickson 1.25, Alexa Byers .75, Macy Simonson .5, Maddy Johnson .5, Chanel Madson .25, Brianna Mattison .25, and Elizabeth Woelber .25.
