Your local long-term care provider since 1961149 First Ave, Westbrook, MN CLASSIFIED PRICE BIG RESULTS By Pastor Rob Adams Life's Difficult Journey Psalm 25 pictures life as a difficult journey that we cannot make by ourselves. David is surrounded by enemies who hate him and want him to fail. He knows that he is a sinner and doesn't deserve God's goodness. He knew that the journey was not easy, but he was able to keep going because of three unfail- ing truths. First, the help we need comes from God alone (1-7). Unto Thee, 0 LORD, do I lift up my soul. 0 my God, I trust in Thee; do not let me be ashamed," do not let my enemies triumph over me. Yes, let none that wait on Thee be ashamed; let them be ashamed that transgress without cause. Show me Thy ways, 0 LORD; teach me Thy paths. Lead me in Thy truth and teach me;for Thou art the God of my salvation; on Thee do l wait all the day. Remember, 0 LORD, Thy tender mercies, and Thy loving-kindnesses; for they have been ever of old Remember not the sins of my youth, or my transgressions; according to Thy mercy, remember me for Thy goodness sake, 0 LORD. David was in deep distress but he lifted his soul to the LORD. He called with confidence upon the One to whom he could refer as my God. He prayed for God's guidance, asking for wisdom to understand God's unchanging Word. He deter- mined to wait on the LORD, knowing how the LORD had treated Israel in the past when she had called out to Him. And he confessed his sin. Second, God can be trusted (8-14). Good and upright is the LORD; therefore He will teach sinners in the way. The meek He will guide in judgment, and the meek He will teach His way. ,411 the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep His covenant and His testimonies. For Thy name's sake, 0 LORD, pardon my iniquity, for it is great. What man is he that fears the LORD? Him shall He teach in the way that He shall choose. His soul shall dwell at ease; and His seed shall inherit the earth. The secret of the LORD is with them that fear Him; and He shall show them His covenant. David paused to reflect on the character of God, who is good, merciful, a teacher, the source of truth, and can be trust- ed! God highly prizes those who are meek--who have a teach- able spirit. He will guide us when we come to Him in repen- tance and meekness. Having meditated upon God's character, he is once again reminded of his own sinfulness. This brings him back to the fear of the LORD. He speaks of God's secret---denoting sweet, intimate fellowship known only to those who walk in the fear of the LORD. Finally, trusting God brings victory (15-22). My eyes are ever toward the LORD;for he shall pluck my feet out of the net. Turn yourself unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted The troubles of my heart are enlarged. 0 bring me out of my distresses. Look upon my affliction and my pain, and forgive all my sins. Consider my enemies, for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred 0 keep my soul, and deliver me; do not let me be ashamed, for 1put my trust in Thee. Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on Thee. Redeem Israel, 0 LORD, out of all his troubles. David mentions the specific burdens that are troubling him: danger, loneliness, a broken heart, regrets, fear, and despair. For all of these troubles, David put his trust in the LORD. Every life has its burdens and trials. How does one face them without the LORD? I do not know. What a joy it is to be able to rest in Him in time of trouble. I Anita's Conservatory of Dance."
