Bridge St. in Redwood Falls on Saturday and Sunday, June 15 and 16 from 12:00-4:00 P.M. Tatanka Arts is a non- profit arts organization serv- ing the Redwood and Renville County Area that was formed in 2007-2008. Tatanka Arts' vision is to provide educa- tion, entertainment, and plat- forms for community partici- pation across a wide spectrum ofarts related events. Several Tatanka Arts artists will be showing a variety of excep- tional pieces during this event, including watercolor, fiber art, sculptures, linoleum block prints, and photogra- phy, along with other medi- ums. You can preview the artists' works at www. tatankaarts.org under "gal- lery" section. Artworks will also be available to purchase. Come and "meet and greet" the artists on Saturday, June 15, in the parlor from noon until 1:00. Visit with the art- ists and vote for your favorite piece for the "People's Choice Award". We would like to give a warm welcome to Konrad and Marian Kopperud! They moved in on Monday and they are a wonderful addition to our already great tenants! This week the tenants have participated in PoKeNo, J-I- N-G-O, SkipBo, BINGO, Kings Corner, Hand & Foot Canasta, Rummy, Catholic Mass with Father Mraz, Stretching with Ashlee, Bone Builders and weight and blood pressure checks. Friday was "gray" day with an ice cream social in the afternoon. Next week will bring Nail painting, UNO, Ecumenical Church on Thursday morning at 8:30 and "dress your best" day on Friday. Friday after- noon the Misfits will be here to provide special musical entertainment for all tenants. The 500 card tournament will be on Monday the 17th. We would like to invite any who like to play to attend at 1 p.m. in the upstairs dining room. Eleanor Davis celebrated a birthday on the 7th along with Konrad & Marian Kopperud's 66th wedding anniversary. Minnie Kronback also celebrated a birthday on the 4th. MIRROR OF BYGONE DAYS FIFTEEN YEARS AGO June 10, 1998 WWG senior Whitney Kuehl participated in the State Track Meet in Blaine Friday and Saturday, coming away with third place in the 3200 meter race, and a fifth place in the 1600 meter event, and a new school record of 4:26.33. Last week workers from Greenwood Nursery were busy replacing some of the shrubbery around the front of the high school building. They also installed new shrubs on the front of the new science addition. THIRTY YEARS AGO June 9, 1983 Jerry Baumann and Paul DeSmith are doing their part in keeping the community going. The recently closed Tri-County Co-op on Main Street is now J & P Repair. They will specialize in gen- eral repair, cars, pickup, trucks, diesel and some small engines. Tune up and oil change also. Sunshine and clouds and a mixture of showers has been the pattern of our weather the past week, along with some days of very strong winds, chilly nights and day time temperatures, mostly in high sixties and very low seven- ties. Farm work is catching up, and crops are peeking through the ground. FORTY FIVE YEARS AGO June 13, 1968 High winds, hail and light- ning caused heavy damage in this area Sunday evening. Crops southwest of town suf- fered considerable damage from the storm and some farmers are reported to be planning to replant their soy- beans. Doug Halstenson and Russ Severson, who attended the U of MN returned home Thursday. Both are employed this summer at the Southwest Experiment Station.
