They were 5:30 with Lisa Onken from reatly appreciated. Lisa Onken from Southwest Minnesota Housing Partnership met with the council to discuss the grant funding for rehabilita- tion that the City will be apply- ing for. Lisa also discussed the target area that the grant will cover. Our next step is to have a Community meeting which will take place Monday, May 24, 2004. Others present at the regular council meeting were: Dave Haselhorst with Team Laboratory, Dennis Jutting, Jeff Christians, and Alan Wahl. Mayor Schmidt presided at the meeting. Motion'by Kolar and second- ed by Jans to approve the min- utes from the April 5th Council meeting. All voted in favor. Motion carried. Police Chief, Alan Wahl, pre- sented the police report, which was reviewed and approved by the council. All voted in favor. Motion carried. Chief Alan Wahl presented a new ordinance that pertains to dangerous dogs. The City will publish it for one week in the paper. The product that the city received is not curing prop- erly. Dave will replace the 4 barrels that the city has left and replace it with a newer product. Rocky Kolar told the council that Perry Zieske recommended they replace the curb in front of Duane's Body Shop with a low profile drive over curb and replace the catch basin. Harold told Rocky to take care of the matter. Karl Ourada requested to hire Amy Jensen as a part-time employee to fill in when need- ed. Karl indicated that they would not be adding extra hours except for some training. The council gave their approval. The council discussed hiring seasonal help for the street department. The council approved hiring Michael Jans at the hourly rate of $5.85. The city council gave their approval for Bank Midwest to put flower pots on main street. Lairdie Kells asked the coun- cil if it would be ok to advertise in the Tracy paper offering swimming lessons to the kids since Tracy pool is not opening. The council gave their approval. Motion by Phelps and sec- onded by Madson to approve Dave Beaty as a weather spot- ter. All voted in favor. Motion carried. Motion by Phelps and sec- onded by Kolar to approve the following building permits. Gwen Kviihaug to add on to house on Cedar Avenue; Donna Stresemann to move a garage to 4th Street; John Madson for a utility shed on Ninth Street. Motion by Phelps and .seconded by Madson to approve a build- ing permit for Duane Ourada to build a fence. All voted in favor. Motion carried. Motion by Kolar and second- ed by Madson to approve the bills totaling $55,361.30. All voted in favor. Motion carried. Motion by Kolar and second- ed by Madson to adjourn the meeting.
