Work Wanted Westbrook City council Regular Meeting June 3, 2013 The Westbrook City Council met on Monday, June 3, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. in the city council room. Members present: Mayor: Dennis Phelps; council members: Jan Johnson, John Madson, Marv Sorenson and Manda Jorgenson. Others present: Dan Joel, Carl Conrad, and Dennis Jutting. Mayor Dennis Phelps presided the meeting. Motion by Sorenson and seconded by Madson to approve the minutes from the May 6, 2013 council meeting as amended. All voted in favor. Motion car- fled. Police Chief Wahl pre- sented police report. Council discussed doing a drive around to look at some yards for cleaning up. Street Superintendent Conrad presented a quote for the recycle shed from Pederson-Vanden Bosch Builders to repair supports. Council approved the work to be done. Conrad stated that the pool is operating, branches are picked up and he is focusing on sweeping. Jan Johnson with the ambulance asked the coun- cil to pay for 1/2 of a break- er box in the ambulance shed. The cost for the 1st phase of the project will cost an estimated $2,000.00. Motion by Madson and seconded by Jorgenson to pay for the CUSTOM LARGE SQUARE BALING. Alfalfa, grass & straw. No job too far. David Kramer 507-967-2140 or 507-360- 9963. city half. All voted in favor. Motion carried. Jan also presented to council the possibility of hiring a full time EMT. They are losing members and are looking at ways to cover the ambulance day shift. This person would take runs; do the billing paperwork and maintenance on the equipment. After council discussion, sugges- tion was made to check with hospital to see if we can work something out with them. Dan Joel, Sewer Operator, presented 2 price quotes for impellers for the ponds. Power Process and Dakota Pump and Control were very similar in price. However, Dakota Pump offered a protective coating on the impellers. Motion by Johnson and seconded by Madson to go with Dakota Pump and Control. All voted in favor. Motion car- fled. Dennis Jutting Utility Superintendent suggested putting in a catch in the line so that we don't have the issues of debris getting in the impellers. Steen will contact Good Sam Director and suggest they do that. Motion by Sorenson and seconded by Jorgenson to approve Eric Hanson build- ing permit for a fence. All voted in favor. Motion car- fled. Motion by Jorgenson and seconded by Johnson to approve a building permit for Keith and Jodi Bums to remove curb and pave an approach at their empty lot. All voted in favor. Motion CE See a specialist here at home carried. Motion by Jorgenson and seconded by Madson to approve the building permit for Matt Jackels Construction to build a duplex. All voted in favor. Motion carried. Motion by Johnson and seconded by Madson to approve the bills in the amount of $51,618.65. All voted in favor. Motion car- fled. Motion by Johnson and seconded by Sorenson to adjourn.
