Red Cross Bloodmobile We are once again grate- ful to the members of the Westbrook community who again contributed time and work for the July Red Cross Bloodmobile. Thirty-four people came to donate blood, 24 pints of blood were collected. Catherine Boone was a first-time donor. Judy Schoborg received an 8 gal- lon pin and husband Scott received a 9 gallon pin. Imagine, 17 gallons of blood donated by the couple! The Westbrook-Rosehill 4-H Club helped at the can- teen. The "future donors" did a great job. We appreciate the faith- ful volunteers who worked on publicity, the meal for the staff, loading and unloading equipment, as well as those who came to give their pre- cious blood. The next bloodmobile will be held on December 1. Address: PV2 Noomen, Eric R. Echo Company, 3rd Bn, 323 Inf. COrn A QUIET MIND Invariably, great spiritual leaders are men and women who have an air of great peace about them: the Buddha is usually represented sitting in serene contemplation; Jesus slept sound- ly on a boat during a great storm whereas his disciples were in a terrible panic; and Aristotle talks about the magnanimous man as someone who is never in a hurry and never talks shril- ly because there are greater things on his mind. Great spiritual leaders realize that the things of this earth are of little relative importance, and that the greatest things are the eternal ones, thus, there is no need to anxiously rush about. Ultimately, there is nothing to worry about, because God has everything worked out. Conversely, if we lack the peace of a quiet mind, outward comfort and material goods will have little or no value because our undue anxiety will keep us from enjoying them. We are told in the Holy Bible that true peace comes from God, and that a heart at peace gives life to the Body. Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your heart upon your bed, and be still. K.J.V.
