SENTINEL TRIBUNE Wednesday, September 4, 2013 Page 2 OBITUARIES Robert George Jensen Funeral services were held Monday, August 26, 2013, 10:30 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Granite Falls, MN for Robert George Jensen. Pastor John Schultz officiated. Honorary pallbearers were Matthew Johnson, Mark Johnson, Brian Jensen, Andrew Jensen, timothy Jensen, Nicholas Jensen, and Chase Paulson. Military honors by the Granite Falls American Legion, Granite Falls Veterans of Foreign Wars. Interment at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Granite Falls, MN. Robert George Jensen was born on November 20, 1923, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Elmer R. and Gertrude A. (Carr) Jensen. The family moved to Storden, where he was baptized at the Stoden Baptist Church at the age of 5. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook. He attended school in Storden. Robert served his country during WWII in the United States Navy. He was united in marriage to Ruth Patricia Rupp on October 13, 1943. He was a proud member of the Granite Falls American Legion, VFW Posts, and was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Robert was employed by Westbrook and Walnut Grove Egg & Produce Companies, Moorman's Feed Company, St. Paul Pioneer Press and Dispatch and served the community of Granite Falls as a police officer for 11 years. In the late 70's he started his own handy-manbusiness, which he worked until the age of 75. Survivors include his wife Patricia, Granite Falls; children -- Susan Kathy (Theodore), Granite Falls, Michael (Colleen), Mound; Richard, Lakeville; James (special friend Carol Quenemoen), Red Wing; Penelope (Dan) Paulson, Alexandria; sister Patricia Loppnow, Amarillo, TX; sister-in-law Diane Rupp, Minneapolis; daughters-in-law Marshal Kouchar; Gayle Jensen Nellermoe and Cindy Jensen Swang; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-- grandchild; nieces, nephews and extended family. Preceding him in death were his parents; son Gary; sister Joyce; brother-in-law James Rupp. Yvonne "Vonnie" Darlene Hollingsworth Yvonne Hollingsworth, Age 82, of Dovray, MN, formerly of Rapid City, SD and Mankato, MN died August 31, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Westbrook, MN.
