Due to low num- bers and general lack of interest, he recommended the board drop the program. The hoard then voted to drop the breakfast program. There was exten- sive damage to the combine engine. The former Tri County sta- tion and bulk delivery ser- vice changed hands recently. Floyd Knakmuhs purchased the station and will operate it as Floyd's Tire Service. The bulk oil facility was pur- chased by Farmers Elevator Company and will be man- aged by Larry Peterson. Jan Johnson recently com- pleted the MN State Insurance License test and is now licensed in health and life insurance. She is employed at the Westhrook Insurance Agency. FORTY FIVE YEARS AGO October 17, 1968 A first step towards pos- sible consolidation of School District 174, Storden, and District 175, Westbrook, was accomplished last week when Duane Mattheis, MN Commissioner of Education, approved a plat submit- ted jointly by the 2 school boards, showing the area to be covered by the proposed consolidation. Now that the plat has been approved, it will be up to the school boards of the two districts to accept or reject the plat within 45 days: The old First National Bank building was offered to the village for back taxes of under $300 to be used as a library, but the village council decided not to take it. Now Melvin Klasse has purchased the building and is spending a lot of time run- ning in and out of it with a yardstick. The big question is, "What's he up to?" Laridee presented the ben- efits and uses of the SciFit Pro2 Series to the Heritage Health Care Foundation Board at the July meeting. The Heritage Health Care Foundation Board paid for a portion (half) of the equip- ment. This equipment can be used as a rehabilitation tool. The PRO2 is an upper body exerciser and lower body recumbent bike in one for a total body solution offer- ing knee-to-elbow motion for cardio to the core, removable seat for wheelchair accessibil- ity, therapist assist pedal on adjustable seat, bi-directional exercise, Iso-Strength safe, and accommodating strength program. Additional benefits include extreme accessibility, low starting resistance and easy interaction. Frederick Plaetz, was the first ever gradu- ate of the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program.
