The board felt that was a good idea as the former center was not being used to the extent that they thought it should. The center was relocated in the former agriculture room in the west wing. The new center is slightly larger than the old one, and has a spacious dressing area in one of the former locker rooms, with locker space and The new fitness center has a light and airy look to the street level area. to go for patrons shower area. Woelber said, "the new center provides a much more pleasant area to be in, especially with the south facing windows." It also features a computerized entry system along with designated parking near the entrance. "We do have a little extra room in the center if people have suggestions for different equipment, or other suggestions. We also hope to update the showers and bathroom in the future," Woelber said. The center features a wide array of fitness equipment which includes: 2 elipticals; 2 recumbent bikes; 2 NuSteps therapy chair for rehabilita- tion; 4 tread mill; 5 weight machines; 1 set of dumbbells. Woelber said, "for twenty bucks a month people can use both the Walnut Grove Center and the Westbrook Center. Also most insur- ance plans offer reimbursement pro- grams. The centers help support the Community Ed Programs in both towns." Educators r0m Thaila visited Walnut Grove [:00e..mentary last week Last week at the Parent Teacher Carnival a group of educators from Thailand visited the Westbrook Walnut Grove Elementary School. The educators wanted to learn more about how schools in the area operate. They were impressed with all of the posters and art work dis- played in the halls and class- rooms. They visited several schools in southwestern Minnesota while staying in Marshall. In Thailand schools, comput- ers are used, but mainly just in computer labs. Most of the stu- dent's work is still done using paper and pencils. They were surprised at the self confidence of students in the classrooms. The Thai educators posed with some of the local students at the carnival last week. Dining and Entertainment We strive to be the best place in town to have a drink, play pool or darts and meet friends, old and new. With an immense cocktail list; outstanding munchies and a fun, casual atmosphere, it's a scene away from the usual bar scene. After all, it's not just another bar, it's a classic o neighborhood hangout. ON/OFF SALE 628-4645.
