Behavior Management of Children The Minnesota Extension Service, Cottonwood County, will be featuring the topic of Behavior Management of Children, November 15 from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. at the Southwest State Bank Meeting room, Windom. This is part of the regular series offered for day and foster care providers. All adults manage the behavior of the children in their care. Some succeed at managing it in ways that cause the children to behave in ways the adult likes; some do not. Most adults have a desire to change or improve certain aspects of their children's behavior. This class will spend time -- 1) Understanding why children behave as they do 2) Focusing on prevention rather than remediation of behavior problems 3) Learning to respond proactively in order to teach children what is expected of them 4) Setting the stage for management success through environmental engineering. Guest speaker will be Cec Handevidt of the Jackson Southwestern Technical College. If you have questions or are interested in attending contact us at 831-4022.
