Leigh Klasse named MGA Women's player of the year SPECIAL -- Leigh Klasse of Meadowbrook Golf Club lead the Minnesota Golf Association standings in the Women's division for 2009 with 522.50 points. She out paced the runner up by over 140 points. Klasse also won the mixed team championship with JT Johnson of Hastings. Klasse earned a pair of victories at the MWPGA Match Play Championship and the MGA Mixed Amateur Championship where she paired with JT Johnson. She also had runner-up finishes at the MGA Women's Mid-Amateur Championship, MWPGA State Public Links Championship, and the Minnesota Women's Four-all Championship where she paired with Betsy Aldrich. Her success continued with a fourth place finish at Minnesota Women's State Open, an eighth place finish at the Minnesota Women's Amateur Championship, and she was a sectional qualifier for the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship and quarter finalist in the MWGA Match Play Championship.
