He has shown up at many community functions, all while managing to direct operations at his North Pole toy facto- ry. Santa made a stop the December 3 at the Dovray Cafe where he visited with the kiddies and gave them bags of goodies, while listening to their requests for Christmas. Parents and visitors were also treated to Christmas lunch treats. Last Tuesday night Santa made a visit to the Walnut Grove Community Center for a children's Christmas party. The event was sponsored by the Walnut Grove Activity Club from funds received from the Walnut Grove Foundation. Kids were treated to a fun night of various games, and crafts. Community Center. Santa -- Cont. on page 10 f \\; Sounds of the Holidays By Tom Merchant Sentinel Tribune WWG -- Last Monday night the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades presented their Christmas Program. The fifth grade band opened the program with three numbers including two holiday numbers First Winter's Sleigh Ride, and A Christmas Sleigh Ride. The sixth grade band performed four holiday numbers including a familiar carol, Hark, the Herald Angels Sing, and a medley And to All a Good Night. The 4th, 5th, and 6th grade choir sang Songs For a Merry Christmas, a joyous collection for young voices. Tyson Elzenga, Theresa Merrick, Anthony Ross, Mariah Soleta, Kyle Kuehl, Tony Yang, and Regan Truedson intro- duced the various parts of the col- lection. In the last part the audience was invited to sing along to the song, We Wish You a Merry Christmas. Sounds --- Page 2, 3, 10 * Break ins reported by Redwood County Sheriff WALNUT GROVE -- There was an attempted break-in at the rectory in Walnut Grove at St. Paul's Catholic Church. Fr. Bob Mraz left the rectory at 7:45 a.m. for Mass in Milroy and returned at 3:15 to find the rectory door tampered with. The door knob was cut away. Collection money was not in the office and no funds were missing. There were break-ins at several area churches recently. YES Class to recycle Holiday lights The WWG YES class will conclude their Holiday Light Recycling project on Januray 2. The Class is collecting discarded Electric cords. Holiday lights, telephone cords and appliance cords. They are not accepting cord adaptors or battery packs.
