Volume No. 30 NUMBER 18 10 PAGES Plus supplements in local edition line WWG school has the lowest local levy of all but two schools in southwest Minnesota WWG -- Superintendent Loy Woelber asked the board for approval of the 2014-2015 school year pay 2015 local levy at $415,000. That is down slightly from last years budget of $417,000, and $10,000 below the levy of $'425,000 the year before that. With that in mind the board has done a commendable job of not only keeping the fiscal budget in line, but also have kept the physical plants in very good condition. Athletic Director Leo Theisen pre- sented his report. He noted the MSHSL foundation had sent a check for $955.00. These funds are used to help pay for participation fees for athletics and free arts. The money comes from fall regional tourna- ments, and $11,500 came from our section from sales tax on gate admis- sions at regional games. Area schools are then able to apply for grants WWG -- After being weathered Vocal Music Department presented their Holiday Concert Wednesday morning. The concert featured the Charger Chorus, Dynamic Sound and the Concert Choir. The groups sang a variety of traditional and non traditional Christmas carols. After a piano prelude by Samantha Hotzler, the Dynamic Sound group entered the stage puling a red wagon with Santa Claus on board. They proceeded to sing Up on the Housetop. The Charger Chorus accompanied by Elizabeth Johnson, featured the junior high, singing three numbers. Carol of the Drum, Hallelu, Hallelu, and Don't Want to Wait. McKenzie Deprez and Samantha Hotzler sang a duet of an old Christmas carol, White Christmas. Then the Dynamic Sound performed a Ukrainian Carol, Carol of the Bells. The WWG Concert Choir, accompanied by Shirley Iverson, performed four num- bers. The numbers featured soloists, Beth Danielowski, Cindy Lohre, and Sam Thao. The Dynamic Sound performing Up on the Housetop at the nstrumentalists: Samantha Baker - flute, concert last Wednesday morning. Ashley Baker - drum, and Elias Lorenzo - French Carol, Go Tell it on the Mountain, Born Navidad. woodblock. J.C.
